Tea & lyrics

Time is a funny thing. Sometimes it seems to pass so quickly and at others, it moves so slow.

With another year almost over and a birthday approaching at the end of the month, I felt the need to refresh, reboot and recount life a little.

This year has been filled with countless moments of happiness, many of which came from a new personal project i've been working on...

In May I began writing songs for a movie and in the process I wrote a song I couldn't part with. I started sitting at my piano a few days a week with a cup of tea by my side and I couldn't stop the lyrics and melodies pouring out of me. By the end of the month I'd written about 12 songs that I felt couldn't part with. I quickly realised that I was ready to keep music for myself .

As a result, I've been writing countless songs for the past 6 months and it's brought about more clarity than I could have ever expected. For the first time I feel like I've written music without expectation. I've written songs that I care for. By me, for me.
